Samantha is a Registered Social Worker in Ontario. She holds a Masters Degree in Social Work from University of Toronto, after having completed her Bachelors of Social Work and Bachelors of Sociology through McMaster University.

Samantha has worked for the last 10 years with individuals, families, and groups in a variety of capacities. Her expertise is in anxiety, depression, trauma recovery, stress management, and parenting challenges. Samantha also specializes in child and youth mental health, and has worked primarily in children’s mental health for the last 7 years. Samantha has specific training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Trauma Informed Counselling, and Family Therapy. 

Samantha is passionate about partnering with her clients as they journey towards discovering their inner potential and address the challenges they are currently experiencing. Samantha is a strong believer that her clients posses inner strength and resilience that can help them move through difficult life experiences, and is committed to joining with her clients to discover this.

Samantha believes in transparent practice with her clients and adopts a strength-based, non-judgemental approach that promotes a safe-space to explore both recent difficulties or long-standing challenges. Samantha often takes a “mixed bag” approach, and tailors her practice to fit the needs and best interests of the clients she works with.

Samantha believes that her clients are the experts in their lives and strives to join with them in gaining further insight into their challenges, while learning new ways of coping and promoting ongoing mental wellness.

Sue is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from York University and a Child and Youth Worker Diploma from Centennial College.

Sue has more than 20 years of experience working with children, youth and families in a variety of settings helping them to live their best lives.  Sue works in the field of children’s mental health and has developed expertise to effectively support her clients with the struggles of parenting, understand and repair relationship issues, understand emotional difficulties and help children experience success at home, school and childcare.

Sue is committed to helping others live life to their fullest potential by addressing the challenges they are experiencing.  She believes in building a therapeutic relationship that is respectful, genuine and meaningful, while collaboratively creating strategies and solutions.   She believes that children, youth and families are the experts in their lives and offers them the opportunity to explore and reflect on their journey to build resilience and begin to move towards their hopes and dreams.

Sue works from an integrated, strengths based and trauma informed perspective, using principles from various therapeutic modalities such as attachment theory, life span development, early years, solution focused therapy, narrative therapy and cognitive behavioural strategies and techniques.  Sue believes that clients access therapy for a variety of reasons and her approach is to draw upon their strengths and develop interventions that best fit each individual’s needs.   

Shadi Pourafzal, Registered Psychotherapist, MA, BA

Shadi is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and has completed her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. Shadi is in the process of becoming a certified Play Therapist.

As a therapist, the most important thing Shadi can do is listen to you. She will provide a safe space for you to share your story. Shadi believes that therapy can be the path to attain mental clarity. Her passion and goal are to help people reach their full potential while offering a supportive and non-judgmental space to make that happen.

She has worked with children, adolescents, and adults diagnosed with depression, anxiety, trauma, and Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and she offers psychotherapy sessions in both English and Farsi.

Shadi believes in forming an authentic therapeutic relationship with respect to the client’s cultural background. With a suitable therapeutic approach that tailors individual needs, one can face covert feelings with clarity. Therapy is a safe and non-judgmental space where individuals can unpack their deepest emotions and learn to process them effectively.

Emma is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). She holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Windsor and Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and Sociology from the University of McMaster.

Emma has worked for the past 10 years with children, youth, young adults and their families, who experience a variety of challenges including, emotional regulation, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, self-esteem and trauma, among others. She has significant experience supporting families to work together as a cohesive unit, specializing in children’s mental health and parenting challenges.

Emma believes each client and family is unique in their own journey and it is important to meet her clients where they are.  She develops goals that identify the area of need and build off of each individual’s strengths. Emma develops interventions that best fit each client by using an integrative approach drawing from a variety of theories including Attachment, Biopsychosocial, Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness, Solution Focused Therapy, Trauma informed care, Brief Therapy and Narrative Therapy. Emma strives to create a sense of safety, trust and transparency in her sessions, providing a non-judgmental approach that is strengths based.

Taylor is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists (CRPO), holding a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology (M.A.), as well as a Bachelor of Arts with Honours (B.A. Hons) in Psychology.

She is a dedicated and compassionate psychotherapist with a profound commitment to fostering healing and well-being. Taylor’s journey into the field was ignited by her own personal experience that unveiled the transformative power of therapy in navigating the complexities of emotions.

Specializing in working with teenagers, adolescents, and adults, Taylor’s diverse experience extends to front-line workers, survivors of human trafficking, and those overcoming the aftermath of sexual abuse. She is well-versed in guiding individuals through a spectrum of mental health challenges, including addictions, eating disorders, bipolar personality disorder, borderline personality disorder, anxiety, depression, PTSD, grief/loss, and more.
